Yang Zeqi was last seen close to the Myanmar borders and appeared stressed on a picture phone.
The Thai police chief has requested assistance from the parents of a Chinese man model who went missing more than two weeks ago near the Thai-Myanmar borders.
Lawyer Ratchaphon Sirisakhon requested on Thursday that Yang Zeqi’s father, Yang Zeqi, send a letter to Pol Gen Kittharath Punpetch to help locate his son after he arrived in Thailand next month and eventually vanished.
The incident resembles the one involving Wang Xing, a Taiwanese artist, who was dumped into a Myawaddy fraud center for four weeks before being returned to Thailand unharmed but with his nose shaved.
The Wang case’s enormous attention has caused the Thai government to go into damage-control mode, as there are indications that some Chinese tourists are now halting their travels due to safety concerns.
The removal of Yang Zeqi has also been widely reported in international press, said Pol Gen Thatchai Pitaneelaboot, an inspector-general with the Royal Thai Police.
Mr. Ratchaphon claimed that when Yang called his mom via WeChat on December 29, he appeared concerned and disturbed.
He was spotted wearing dark and his hands on a table while he was sitting on a chair. His parents claimed that he had noticed that his brother had lost his eye and was unable to use a cell phone. His parents thought that while Yang was making the video call, someone might have held it.
During the protection, his brother did not seek any assist or give any sign. His parents thought Yang might have been closely watched as he was being detained.
On January 10, his household complained to the police’s Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division. However, there has been no headway so much.

According to information sent to his girlfriend and another friends, Yang’s last known location was in the Tak district’s Phop Phra or Mae Sot area. No additional changes were posted on his social media accounts, and it’s not known whether he traveled through Myanmar via the Moei River.
Mr. Ratchaphon claimed that there were Thai, Chinese, and Myanmar immigrants involved in the removal of the Chinese model.
He claimed that there is proof that Yang was transported by two cars. He was eventually moved to a second car after being picked up by one driver at the Suvarnabhumi airport. The attorney claimed to have images of the license plates.
