Anutin Charnvirakul, the head of the coalition party Bhumjaithai, the head of Thailand’s interior minister, stated on Thursday that Alpine Golf and Sports Club’s possession of sizable land tracts must be revoked.
Mr Anutin said Chamnanwit Terat, assistant permanent director for the inside, was duty-bound to carry out the equity withdrawal by the end of September, before he retires in October. The Department of Lands is under the control of Mr. Chamnanwit.
Mr. Anutin stated that he anticipated Mr. Chamnanwit’s completion of the task in moment; in such a case, Mr. Chamnanwit might be held accountable for dereliction of duty.
Because the Council of State had previously criticized the private sector’s withdrawal of the property ownership, Mr. Anutin said, leaving the lieutenant permanent secretary with no other options.
The Department of Lands may be subject to a large burden because the compensation may be determined based on the land’s current assessed value, according to Mr. Anutin, who stated that the current owners may be compensated if the land is revoked.
The president of the Bhumjaithai Party claimed that the situation did not point to a potential conflict between Bhumjaithai and the Pheu Thai Party of Prime Minister Paetongtarn.
A Pheu Thai minister previously asserted that the State Railway of Thailand belonged to the owner of a contested Khao Kradong area narrative in Buri Ram territory. Buri Ram is a social enclave of Bhumjaithai.
