Defiant South Korean president faces more questioning, impeachment hearing

The Constitutional Court will hold a second reading of the besieged party’s impeachment trial on January 16th, as part of a criminal investigation into whether he organized rebellion.

South Korea is dealing with its worst political crisis in years, which Yoon’s quick, resounding, aborted, Dec. 3 attempt to impose martial law.

A representative from the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials ( CIO ), which is overseeing the criminal investigation, said on Wednesday that Yoon has so far turned down conversations with investigators who had prepared a questionnaire that was more than 200 pages.
