Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra admitted on Wednesday that she had been targeted by a visitor who used AI voice cloning to pretend to be the leader of another nation. &nbsp,

Mr Paetongtarn raised the issue of online frauds while outlining&nbsp, policies and guidelines for the macroeconomic 2026 resources. &nbsp,

She claimed a sophisicated con about took her by surprise. &nbsp,

A visitor who claimed to be a president from another nation contacted her to say that she had not yet made the anticipated donation. She had received an audio tape featuring that party’s words. However, the connection she was given to make the payment was for another state.

” I want to warn people that I, myself, nearly fell victim. This problem is essential. The &nbsp, Digital Economy and Society&nbsp, Ministry has now taken the situation. We have to confess that scams and scams are extremely advanced and delicate,” said Ms Paetongtarn.

The prime minister told reporters that the scammer allegedly cloned the head of that nation using AI message and then sent an audio claiming to want to work with her. She replied, typing out” Okay”.

Later, there was a phone call about 11pm ( on Tuesday ), but she did not answer because she was asleep.

She apologized for not answering the call on Wednesday morning and set an appointment to talk about the issue. She sent a text that day. The fraud group therefore sent an audio to ask her to donate, claiming that Thailand was one of the Asean nations that had not yet done so, according to Ms. Paetongtarn.

This left her a little startled, and she doubted it was real. It turned out that the bank account belonged to someone from another state when the hoax group sent a bank account number, she claimed.

She knew then, for certain, she was being targeted by a scam.

Because the group did not use the Line game, she had requested that Deputy Prime Minister Prasert Jantararuangthong and Minister of Digital Economy Prasert Jantararuangthong take charge of the case. It had utilized a foreign country’s game.

She guessed that the scammers may be targeting several different people, and she was right to take her to the jackpot.

She recalled a similar event involving her parents Thaksin Shinawatra, before he returned to Thailand. She had a message from her parents that read, with an audio recording of his voice, that she had received. Nevertheless, she knew well it was not correct.

People shouldn’t believe everyone trying to deceive them into believing then because Ms. Paetongtarn claimed she had not given or received any money from anyone. &nbsp,
