As long as the skies are clear, The Red Planet will rise over Singapore on Thursday ( Jan 16 ), making it brighter and more visible than at any other time of year.  ,
The celestial event, known as Mars in criticism, occurs when Earth passes directly between the earth and the moon.  ,
According to The Observatory at Science Centre Singapore, Mars will be at its closest year-end and thoroughly illuminated by the sun.
It was last in criticism on Dec 8, 2022 and may then be in criticism on , Feb 19, 2027, followed by Mar 25, 2029.
WHEN CAN MARS Become SEEN?
Mars will start rising at about 7.30pm on Jan 16, said the station, adding that it should be at an “easily meaningful top” at about 8.30pm forward or when the clouds is dark.  ,
Finally, on January 17, it will attain its highest point in the sky at around 1 a.m.
WHERE BEST TO VIEW THE RED Earth?
As long as the skies are clear, Mars in antagonism should be visible everywhere in Singapore, according to the station.  ,
But, for an unobstructed and “potentially elevated” perspective of Mars, observatories are advised to visit open common places like the Marina Barrage, East Coast Park and the Southern Ridges.
Mars may be visible to the unaided eye, with the earth set to act as a “red star” in the future.
” During criticism, Mars is closest to Earth, making it appear larger and brighter”, said the centre.
