In Sangkhla Buri area on Sunday morning, two Burmese people were detained for supposedly smuggling six colleagues who hid in the back of their delivery vehicle.

Police said drivers Ten Win, 44, and his front-seat operator Mai, 27, were arrested at a station in Moo 4 town of tambon Prang Play at 6.50am on Sunday.

Six additional Myanmar citizens, one person and five women, were crammed into the backseat of the truck and lacked identification papers.

Ten Win planned to move the six illegal migrants to Kanchanaburi’s Muang district after he picked them up on a woodland road in Sangkhla Buri area. He charged each immigrant 3, 000 ringgit, police said he told them.
