In the most recent controversy between the PSP and the ruling People’s Action Party ( PAP ) over the conduct of their volunteers, two senior members of the opposition Progress Singapore Party ( PSP) have issued statements disputing allegations of aggressive behavior by their party volunteers.
PSP chairman Tan Cheng Bock addressed a video released by a PAP volunteer on Thursday that claimed a PSP volunteer had slapped him during a walkabout in Bukit Gombak in a Facebook post on Friday ( January 10 ).
Dr Tan noted that in the movie, it was” no evidence , of any hitting, only translations alleging so”.
He continued, citing earlier claims by Member of Parliament for Chua Chu Kang GRC, Ms Low Yen Ling, that another PAP charity had his top pulled by a PSP charity, and that he “did not see any proof of top pulling as alleged.”
Dr Tan likewise called on , Ms Low to transfer information of the complaints.  ,
In response, Ms. Low stated in a Twitter post on Friday that she will leave the case with the authorities and that her individuals will provide them with all documentation.
PAP participants were first accused of following them on a Saturday night while they were visiting house people, and of taking photos and videos of them.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Ms Low refuted those accusations, including one that alleged a female PSP charity had allegedly frightened and slapped him half.
She also claimed that a female PSP charity had allegedly tied a female PAP volunteer to a second one’s shirt to get a wefie and video with him.
Dr Tan said that he was” shocked” at the allegations, adding that PSP had “immediately” held a meeting on Wednesday evening to hear directly from the party’s volunteers and examine the allegations made in Ms Low’s post.
” All the female volunteers who came to visit us on January 4 were clear that they did not hit someone, and they were persistent in claiming that the claim was untrue,” said Dr. Tan.
According to Ms Low’s article, a PSP charity “did try to take a picture with a guy who was filming him, but did not pull him by his clothing.”
” Our volunteers also said that they started video recording only after being recorded themselves, contrary to the account given in Ms Low’s ( Facebook ) post”, said Dr Tan.
” If any of our participants acted violently, we will consider disciplinary actions. If they are falsely accused, we may fight back up.
Dr. Tan continued,” The PSP does not accept any form of violence, nor do we want to view our people become polarized due to our politicians.”  ,
