Pheu Thai’s Karn celebrates Provincial Administrative Organisation victory

In the Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Administrative Organization ( PAO ) chairman election on Sunday, Karn Kalptinan, a member of the ruling Pheu Thai Party, won a resounding victory.

Illegal election results indicate Mr Karn, even a former PAO captain, received 387, 456 seats, considerably outrunning his competitors.

Independent candidate Jittawan Wangsuphakijkosol came second with 322, 986 votes, followed by Sitthiphon Laohawanich of the main opposition People’s Party ( PP ) with 138, 837 votes.

Athipatai Kuisrimongkol trailed behind with 3, 620 vote.

The victory was celebrated by Mr. Karn’s supporters at the Kriang Kalptinan Law Office in Ubon Ratchathani’s Muang area on Sunday night.

Kriang Kalptinan, Mr Karn’s elder stepson, congratulated him with a wreath of decreases and thanked the campaign workers and citizens.

He praised former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s influence in gaining support for him and stressed the importance of finishing empty projects to promote the territory.

Mr. Kriang attributed his friend’s success to the community initiatives and his commitment to community development over the past four decades.

He claimed that once in office, Mr. Karn would push policies that were in line with Pheu Thai’s regional mission, including the 10,000-baht money handout plan, and promote welfare for the elderly.

” I’m glad that the citizens of Ubon Ratchathani have given our work a lot of respect,” he said.

” I strongly believe in the support of the public to help us to carry on with our work,” he continued.

Mr Sitthiphon and PP essential party characters, including group professional Phicharn Chaowapatanawong, monday released a statement conceding defeat in the poll.

The group claimed that the results of the poll showed that Ubon Ratchathani’s support base had grown since the previous year’s general election.

Mr. Sitthiphon urged the incoming PAO leader-elect to think about implementing some of the PP’s proposed plan measures.

The group reiterated its commitment to community elections by highlighting its ideas to industry candidates in 17 regions for the PAO elections in the first half of the year.
