To donate body, a person has to frequently be in good health and not have any signs of infection, such as a sore throat, cough or vomiting for at least a year, according to the HSA.
Additionally, they must not have experienced a disease for at least four months.
They must weigh at least 45 kg, while those who regularly donate may keep their iron levels high.
When individuals donate body, it is usually separated into its parts such as dark cell, plasma and platelets – for transfusion, the HSA said on its site. Only in cases of swift, massive blood loss are cases where whole body is rarely used for transfusions, it continued.  ,
APPEAL FOR YOUTH DONORS
There is a want for younger donors in special, said Mr Lee. This occurs as the number of teenagers between the ages of 16 and 25 who are willing to dedicate heart is at its lowest level in three years.
