Pakistan military courts convict 25 of pro-Khan unrest

Former baseball legend Khan was in office from 2018 to 2022 until he was removed by the parliament following a no-confidence vote.

He blamed the then-head of the powerful&nbsp, military&nbsp, formation for his death. &nbsp, Pakistan’s commanders are considered the region’s political kingmakers and have explicitly ruled the country for years at a time.

Khan was detained in May 2023 for a short period of time, but he was eventually detained three months later and has since been imprisoned, facing a barrage of court cases he says are politically motivated.

In addition, a massive assault followed the unrest, with the arrest of thousands of community supporters and senior officials.

The 72-year-old was barred from running in February votes, which were marred by rigging claims.

PTI defied the oppression to win more votes than any other group, but a coalition of functions with greater military and political control created a government that let them out of power.

A panel of experts from the UN concluded in September that Khan’s confinement “had no constitutional base” and” seems to have been intended to prevent him from running for political business.”
