Commuters in Singapore’s northeast to get up to 80% off fares before and after morning peak hours

SINGAPORE: Beginning on January 2, riders in the north of Singapore will be able to receive discounts of up to 80 % on their tickets if they begin their journeys before 7.15 am or between 8.45 am and 9.45 am. &nbsp,

This is part of the expanded&nbsp, Travel Smart Journeys project, which aims to handle congestion on people travel during the morning rush hour in the region. &nbsp,

It formerly aimed to encourage commuters to use buses rather than Tod trains, but it now encourages people to take the train sooner or later to avoid the weekday morning rush hour maximum traveling period. Those who do so may receive points that can be used to purchase e-vouchers.

The Land Transport Authority changed the scheme’s registration requirements, even though those who have previously been engaged participants won’t need to re-register. The program has been out of action since November 25 for a program improve, but it will return to normal on January 2.

WHO CAN REGISTER?

Commuters must first enroll with the SimplyGo game and include travel cards to their balances in order to earn points through Travel Smart Journeys. The tickets will be used to identify their enrollment, and items will be given out based on the distances traveled while using the cards.

The eligibility requirements are:

  • Go between 7.15am and 8.45am for at least six weekends out of the last 30 times, excluding people breaks
  • Plug in at Punggol Coast, Punggol, Sengkang, Hougang or Buangkok MRT channels, or Sengkang or Punggol LRT facilities
  • Click out at any MRT or LRT place, excluding those that are located along the Punggol and Sengkang LRT lines.

Within 72 hours of registering, those who are available may be notified, and they will be able to access the SimplyGo app’s Travel Smart Journeys platform. &nbsp, Concession users can also be available for Travel Smart Journeys.

The benefits can be used to purchase travel tickets and get redeemed in 500-point stones.

Gains ON ELIGIBLE BUSES

Commuters who switch to a bus service that is open during the day operating hours will receive points similar to an 80 % discount on their charges.

For example, a bus-to-Promenade MRT passenger from Damai LRT Station would instead be charged S$ 2.96 for the trip. But the passenger may be awarded 237 items, which are for S$ 2.37. &nbsp,

After redeeming the details, the commuter would have efficiently paid 59 percent for the trip.

The available bus services are: Van 43e and City Direct Services&nbsp, 654, 660, 666, 671, 672, 673 and 660M. City Direct Services 675, 676, 677 and 678 – which start on Jan 2 – may also be included in the project.

Buses that are available for Travel Smart Journeys have operating hours in the morning from 6.20am to 9.30am.

PRE- AND POST-PEAK-HOUR Rewards

Depending on the schedule, those who change their journey times will receive either a 40 % or 80 % discount.

The benefits are available to commuters that leave from the Punggol Coast, Punggol, Sengkang, Buangkok, Hougang, or any place on the Punggol and Sengkang LRT traces.

Those who register before 7:30 am may receive items similar to an 80 % cheap.

No discounts may be offered for Travel Smart Journeys between 7.15 am and 8.45 am, though people who signs up before 7.45 am may receive a 50-cent discount under a different MRT network promotion. &nbsp,

After the 50 cents are taken from the original price, the percent reduction on Travel Smart Journeys may be determined.

For instance, a passenger who leaves Sengkang MRT and travels to Raffles Place MRT before 7:15 am will save 50 cents off the S$ 1.93 original fare. The journey had cost in essence 29 cents, and he or she would then be given 114 S$ 1.14 items.

From 8.45am to 8.59am, travellers who begin their expeditions at ready MRT or LRT channels will get a 40 per cent discount.

Between&nbsp, 9am and 9.30am, the cheap rises to 80 per cent, before dropping back to 40 per share between 9.31am and 9.45am.

Recently, travellers may receive points for S$ 1.50 per available vacation.
