Two suspects arrested after housebreaking cases in Holland and Pasir Panjang areas; may be linked to syndicate

Two men who may be connected to a criminal syndicate in China have been detained for their alleged involvement in housebreaking and theft. They are accused of allegedly stealing more than S$ 17,000 ( US$ 12,500 ) in cash and valuables.

The first event was identified at a private personal property along Greenleaf View in the Holland neighborhood on Thursday night, according to the police, who received an alert on Wednesday at around 12.10pm.

The Singapore Police Force ( SPF ) obtained closed-circuit television (CCTV ) cameras within and around the unit. After conducting follow-up studies and using authorities devices, they identified the two female offenders. &nbsp,

Both are Foreign citizens, aged 38 and 52, who had entered Singapore on social attend passes.

Both suspects were detained by the police at a motel along Joo Chiat Road on Wednesday evening around 6o’clock.

Two pieces valued at S$ 8, 800, a marketed pack for about S$ 5, 000, an assortment of jewels and about S$ 3, 570 in funds were recovered. &nbsp,

Additionally, it was discovered that some of the items were recovered from a separate incident in Pasir Panjang, which was reported to the authorities on Wednesday evening around 8:20pm. &nbsp,

The authorities are still conducting inquiries, and it is possible that the two suspects are connected to the burglary syndicate engaged in Singapore in the middle of 2024, according to SPF.

The spate of landed estate burglaries in the months of June and August are thought to be related to overseas cartels involving Chinese citizens.

On Monday, Chinese national Wu Jinxing, who was found with almost S$ 500, 000 ( US$ 370, 000 ) worth of stolen luxury goods and cash was &nbsp, jailed for seven months. &nbsp,

He pleaded guilty to the cost of obtaining other people’s gains from criminal behavior.

Another two people, who are also Chinese citizens, stole S$ 570, 100 of jewels from a home along Windsor Park Road. Officials were unable to retrieve the victim’s$ 390, 200 in jewelry even though the people were caught before they returned to China.

The trio arrived in Singapore to break into homes and steal. Around June of this year, at least five additional Chinese immigrants from the same gang arrived in Singapore with the same intent. &nbsp,

The two guys in the most recent scenario will be charged with burglary and theft with intent to go to court on Friday. If convicted, they face a prison expression of up to 10 years and a good.

The police have increased their surveillance measures, including numerous police patrols and extra police cameras, to avoid and hinder housebreaking and theft at exclusive residential estates since June. &nbsp,

The officers “have actively engaged people from the personal residential estates and issued violence prevention advisories” in the lead up to the holiday seasons, according to SPF. &nbsp,

People are encouraged to install violence prevention measures like installing CCTVs and burglar alarm systems to defend themselves and their homes, the police added, adding that while these crimes remain “generally low” &nbsp,

When they come across an intruder or any suspicious neighborhood people, they should stay calm and give their health and that of their loved ones first. &nbsp,

They should yell to avoid making loud noises and to look up and realize the criminal’s clothing, physical appearance, and any distinguishing characteristics. &nbsp,

Open officials should also record the suspect’s vehicle’s registration number and the suspect’s path of escape. &nbsp,

As soon as possible, they should immediately notify the police about the event. &nbsp,
