South Korea’s Yoon defends martial law decision as his party leans toward impeachment

SEOUL: South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol lashed out at his political opponents as “anti-state causes”, said North Korea perhaps had hacked the country’s votes, and defended next year’s short-lived martial law attempt as a legal move to defend democracy.

His remarks on Thursday ( 12 December ) came as Yoon’s party leader claimed the president had shown no signs of resignation and must be impeached.
