Former Workers’ Party chief Low Thia Khiang says he is not standing in next General Election

Mr. Low left elections in 2020 and did not contest the same general vote that year. &nbsp, He was Singapore’s longest-serving criticism Member of Parliament before he retired.

An MP for Hougang for 20 times from 1991, Mr Low formed a&nbsp, staff to challenge Aljunied GRC in the 2011 General Election.

With 54.72 percent of the votes cast that time, the first time an opposition party had won a GRC, WP won. In 2015, the gathering held Aljunied by a thin ratio, with 50.96 per share of the vote.

Mr Low stepped down as the group’s secretary-general in 2018, handing the reins to present key Pritam Singh.

At the 2020 General Election, the WP squad won 59.95 per share of the vote in Aljunied and also won Sengkang GRC.

Mr Low remains a part of the group’s core executive committee.
