Four Thai staff members have not yet been released by Myanmar authorities, citing the necessity of following proper treatments.

The four people are being detained in Kawthaung, Myanmar, same Ranong, following a gun attack on 15 fishing vessels off this southern state on Nov 30 by Myanmar police boats, Maj Gen Thanathip Sawangsaeng, spokeswoman for the Defence Ministry, said on Saturday.

Four Thais and 27 members of the Sor Charoenchai 8 staff were taken by Myanmar police, who also detained the vehicle. &nbsp,

The four Thais were originally scheduled to be released on Friday, but they were not returned, according to the official.

The Thai-Myanmar Township Border Committee ( TBC ) received notification that legal proceedings were still being pursued in connection with the release after working with its Myanmar counterpart.

According to Maj Gen Thanathip, local authorities in Myanmar were awaiting a email from their bosses before the four Thais had been freed. &nbsp,

The release time remains questionable, he added. Prior, Thai officials had used political channels to express their opposition to the assault and had urged Myanmar to contemplate whether its response was overwhelming.

One fishing vessel crew member jumped into the water and died during the invasion.
