The Suvarnabhumi Airport‘s Midfield Satellite 1 ( SAT-1 ) terminal received an Outstanding Exterior Design Prix Versailles from Unesco.

Prix Versailles, a series of monthly architectural accolades in various categories that Un has sponsored since 2015, recognized six airport jobs in five countries next month for their aesthetic qualities and influence on the user experience.

The prizes ceremony was held on Monday at the Paris office of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

According to Airports of Thailand ( AoT ) president Kirati Kitmanawat, who was present at the event, the terminal embodies the country’s architectural identity and offers an exceptional travel experience from the moment they first set foot in the kingdom.

SAT-1 combines Thailand’s unique layout and artists that blend into the tower’s architecture, showcasing people’s way of life and the country’s past, he added.

Kirati Kitmanawat, chairman of Thailand’s flights, accepts the Prix Versailles prize at the Unesco headquarters in Paris.

Mr. Kirati praised the Prix Versailles honor as a gift to the Thai people and claimed that the terminal building was constructed using only natural, energy-efficient, and light-permitting materials in accordance with a clean aircraft policy.

He continued, adding that the prize supports AoT’s efforts to make Thailand a local aviation hub by raising the standard of airport services.

Opened in September last month, SAT-1 has a complete domestic usable area of 251, 400 square feet and an apron place of more than 260, 000 square m.

The switch has two underground surfaces and is four stories high. It does raise the airport’s passenger-handling power to 60 million per month, away from 45 million.

The Prix Versailles collection commission picked six terminals as being among the “most gorgeous” in November.

The Prix Versailles was presented to Felipe ngeles International Airport in Mexico and Zayed International Airport in the United Arab Emirates. Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 2 won a particular award for its interior design.

Both Terminal E at Logan International Airport in Boston and Kansas City International Airport, both in the United States, won a special medal for its roof.
