SUPPORT OVER MANY ELECTRIC LIFE STAGES
The Finance Ministry is likewise seeking suggestions on how to provide support for people in all stages of life.
This includes assisting young individuals through the transition from parent to senior citizens who are well-aged in their homes and communities.
More measures in the upcoming year’s Budget need to be directed at the workplace, according to Dr. Mathew Mathews, principal research fellow at NUS’ Institute of Policy Studies ( IPS), so that employers can adopt more family-friendly measures.
He brought up a brand-new initiative from the Early Childhood Development Agency that was unveiled last weekend and would allow babysitters to provide child care at their properties.
Dr. Mathews continued,” There might be more and more types of plans that might be required to allow parents to say,” Hey, I’ll own children, and I do recognize that there is a method to take care of them even if I have to undertake to my work needs.”
The department is also looking into ways to give more resources to those who have disabilities and their caregivers.
This is a problem, according to Dr. Mathews, especially because many of these caregivers are older and have to deal with issues of ageing themselves.
” We do have to see how to share resources ( so that the ) area can come in to be able to help these caretakers”, he added.
” Perhaps there will be more efforts to top up, or to gradually increase the money they have for their retirement wants.”
