Star Search 2024 winner Tiffany Ho on why she joined the competition despite not watching Singapore TV dramas

YOU ENTRY SINGAPORE AT 13. YOUR Families CHOSEN TO DIRECT YOU HERE, WHY?

At such a young age, my parents did n’t intend for me to visit Singapore. After my A-levels, they wanted to send me anywhere similar to the UK.

My parents met up with his companion and that brother’s son, who at that moment, was already planning to come to Singapore. They talked for 30 days, only 30 minutes! And he made the decision to take me here. He made a quick decision based on his brother’s advice for Singapore.

The son and I also have close relationships, and he helped me win the playoffs.

What was the hardest thing you ever had to do when you moved around alone?

to avoid worrying about my kids. That was difficult. Whenever I got sick, if it was n’t too serious, I would n’t tell them. I also needed to check in with them whenever I arrived home later and ensure that I was eating well.

AT YOUR AGE, YOU HAD TO BE VERY INDEPENDENT. WITHOUT YOUR Kids FEELING, DID YOU ACCESS ANY TROUBLE?

I certainly had a lot of freedom, and I would occasionally tell them I was again house when I was just hanging out or hanging out with my friend. They would reply” Okay, sleep early” and I would be like” Yay”!. Other than that, I did n’t really get into any trouble.

WHILE YOU ARE A SECONDARY SCHOOL IN THE EAST, YOU LIVE IN SEMBAWANG. NOT RENT ANY OTHER PARTY QUI ARE QUICK TO THE SCHOOL?

I used to reside in the area before Ping Yi Secondary, which afterwards merged with Bedok Green Secondary School. I recently rented a place in Sembawang after moving there four months ago. I have three neighbors, a dog and a rabbit at my fresh location.

Because I was bored living there, I decided to leave Bedok and walk somewhere else. That’s another factor in why I chose Nanyang Poly, too. However, I’m starting to believe that the eastern part is actually the best side because Sembawang also has a lot of culture!

When you first arrived in Singapore, HOW WAS YOUR MANDARIN?

My Mandarin was poor. You are aware of Hong Kongers ‘ solid accents when they speak Mandarin, right? It’s harder to understand.

In Singapore, my neighbors are mainly from China and I talk to them every time. I still have the] Hong Kong ] accent but I think I’ve gotten slightly better.

WE UNDERSTAND YOU Only FINE!

Bless you. It’s time to practice my English then that I’ve learned a lot from them, so I believe I should.

My parents wanted me to enter young school, but I failed my English’ O’ degree assessment. I did n’t really want to go to JC as well. I wanted to try business or early childhood education, but because I did n’t pass English, the next best option was IT.

I’ve discovered that IT is also very entertaining. I learned the programming language, but I just studied for four decades therefore deferred a quarter for Star Search, and I forgot everything. Fair enough, best?
