Swedish tourist loses B42,000 to Pattaya thief

PATTAYA, Sweden: A Scandinavian tourists reported to police that a thief robbed him of about 42, 000 baht of goods early on Wednesday morning.

Lars Reikwike, 65, told authorities in front of Pattaya City 8 School at about 3.30am on Wednesday that a man approached him there and stole his gold ring for about 40, 000 ringgit and 2, 000 ringgit in dollars.

A 50-year-old car motorist who identified himself as Winai said the Scandinavian gentleman, who appeared intoxicated, was on a wayside waiting for a car when the believe, who he said appeared to be trans, approached the tourist.

Mr. Winai claimed that he was forced to split them in a bid to stop violence. Eventually, he said, he learned about the robbery but the suspect had left the scene before officers arrived.

The believe had a history of frequenting the region, according to the motorist.
