A MODEL FOR BILATERAL Participation
The China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park ( SIP ) model serves as a guideline for upcoming bilateral cooperation, according to both leaders. The job is the first government-to-government venture between the two places. Singapore officials have over the centuries referred to it as a “pathfinder” for diplomatic assistance.
Launched in 1994 during China’s economic reforms and urbanisation, the combined business area has since transformed from low-lying land into a modern, incorporated municipality hotspot for high-tech business.
Mr. Xi remarked that the transition even “is a bible to Singapore’s active involvement in China’s transformation and opening up.”
SM Lee criticized the evolution and modernization of SIP, noting that exporting is still the only standard product.
” It’s the hairy crab from Yangcheng lake, and I saw a sign for it today at the hotel and restaurant.” It’s a high-quality, high-content goods from SIP. Everything else is new”.
Beijing is the next leg of Mr Lee’s six-day official visit to China. He met with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and attended activities in Suzhou to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Suzhou Industrial Park.
Mr Lee had said at an event on Monday that Singapore remains convinced in China’s coming, cautioning it would be both” short-sighted” and “unwise” to ignore the country’s second-largest business even as Beijing grapples with difficulties at home and abroad.
” Ancient AND DEAR FRIEND”
At the start of their conference, Mr. Xi welcomed Mr. Lee with a comfortable welcome. ” You are an old and lovely companion of the Chinese people, much dedicated to fostering and supporting China-Singapore assistance”, said the Chinese leader.
Mr. Xi referred to Mr. Lee as a skilled diplomat, noting his long tenure as prime minister of Singapore and how frequently they had met in the past. During his two years as prime minister of Singapore, Mr. Lee visited China 14 times starting in 2004. When Mr. Lee was still in power, the officials next met in March 2023.
Mr. Lee resigned as prime minister and gave Mr. Lawrence Wong the reins for the effective government change, which Mr. Xi congratulated Singapore on. ” We believe that Singapore will keep its speed of growth and development”, he said.  ,
On Tuesday night, the Taiwanese king hosted Mr. Lee for dinner.  ,
Earlier in the day, Mr Lee met with Mr Wang Huning, president of China’s major political consulting system, the Chinese Women’s Political Consultative Conference. In the zenith Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CCP), Mr. Wang ranks third. They first met at Beijing’s Great Hall, which is where they met.
