At its Shenzhen office on Tuesday evening, the Mate 70 will be unveiled at a company build event.
More than three million have been pre-ordered, according to Huawei’s online purchasing system, though that does not need them to become purchased.
The dangers are large- unlike a past generation, based on Android’s open-source script, HarmonyOS Next requires a full rebuilding of all apps on the smartphones it powers.
” HarmonyOS Next is the second home-grown operating system, a breakthrough for China to shift away from reliance on Western systems for applications with performance development”, Gary Ng, a senior analyst at Natixis, told AFP.
However, Ng said that HarmonyOS Next may offer international consumers the same number of apps and features as Chinese companies who may be willing to contribute to Huawei’s ecosystem.
” HIGH EXPECTATIONS”
Beijing and Washington are at odds with Huawei because US officials have warned that its products might be used to spy on behalf of Chinese regulators, a claim they refute.
Due to US sanctions, Huawei has been cut off from global supply chains for US-made components and engineering since then, which had first hampered its smartphone manufacturing.
Donald Trump, the president-elect of the United States, has promised massive tariffs on Chinese imports in response to what he claims are Beijing’s unjust trade practices, just to make that conflict worse.
” More than Huawei inspiring the software industry as a whole, it is the self-reliance pattern of the Chinese technology sector that has made Huawei’s development possible”, Toby Zhu, a senior analyst at systems research agency Canalys, told AFP.
