The local Tourism Authority of Thailand ( TAT ) office, which has launched a new campaign to promote the island’s attractions during the peak season from now until April, claims that TRAT- Koh Kut has many interesting beaches to offer that are frequently overlooked.

The seas, beaches, sky, forests, and oceans are at their most stunning during the daytime, according to Korakot Opas, chairman of the Invoice company in the eastern state of Trat. Daily ferry service runs between the mainland and Koh Kut.

Due to the controversy surrounding a memorandum of understanding ( MoU) that Cambodia and Cambodia signed in 2001 to resolve competing maritime claims, the island has been in daily news. The Thai government has argued that there is no debate over area sovereignty.

Koh Kut is the northernmost area in Thai lakes and ranks as one of the country’s most picturesque territories, said Mr Korakot.

Most shores on the island are considered some of Thailand’s most lovely, including Khlong Rahan, Khlong Yai Ki, Khlong Mat, Ta Phao, and Khlong Chao beaches, said Mr Korakot.

Khlong Rahan, for example, features a tiny bay providing harmony and peace, while remaining readily available for visitors, he said.

Khlong Yai Ki, however, provides both river and lake perspectives, and offers serenity due to strict rules that prohibit properties near the beach, he said.

The dust is real white and good, making a drop in the water at this beach amazing, he added.

Visitors can visit Khlong Mat shore, which is close to Koh Kut’s oldest fishing group, to learn about the culture and produce fresh seafood there.

Aside from these better-known shores, there are lesser-known or even “unseen” shores waiting to be explored, including Ngam Kho, Sai Daeng, Ao Bang Bao, Ta Khian, Khlong Hin, and Ao Phrao.

Ao Phrao is the farthest shore on the island, said Mr Korakot.

” Every beach]on this island ] offers a magnificent sunset view”, he added.

The area has only around 1, 600 hotel rooms, as regional tourism businesses focus on promoting tourism and low-carbon hospitality, said Phlapphueng Pheomsap, chairman of the Koh Kut tourism team.

In 2023, Koh Kut welcomed a full of 291, 214 guests, who generated 2.87 billion ringgit in tourism money. From January to September this time, the area received 232, 114 travellers and recorded 2.82 billion ringgit in tourism income.
