Over 73, 000 tickets will be added over the New Year‘s holiday season, according to a deal made by six flights.

Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit said the ministry has asked Thai Airways International ( THAI), as well as carriers under the Airlines Association of Thailand ( AAT )– namely Bangkok Airways, Thai AirAsia, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air, and Thai Vietjet Air– to boost the number of seats available between Bangkok and 14 key destinations, including Chiang Mai, Phuket and Udon Thani, during the New Year period.

He claimed that the airlines had come to a consensus to increase the number of flights and/or change the aircraft’s configuration to increase chair capacity. The decision, Mr Suriya said, was made to ensure ticket prices do n’t spiral out of control like they did during last year’s New Year holiday period.

The secretary announced that AAT carriers would add 247 further flights between the goal cities on December 26 and January 5, adding 48, 244 seats between the dates. From Monday, orders for the additional airlines will be made.

Thai Airways, however, may work larger aircraft on crucial roads between Bangkok and Phuket, Krabi, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, adding 25, 144 tickets from early next quarter to early January. ” With the assistance from the airlines, there will be 73, 388 more seats available for people who want to go during New Year”, he said.

Additionally, Aeronautical Radio of Thailand ( Aerothai ) and the Airports of Thailand ( AoT), the Department of Airports ( DoA ), and the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand ( CAAT ) will collaborate to extend the service hours of airports nationwide, particularly on December 27-28 and January 1-1-2 in 2025.

” During the extended vacation, there will be more vacation demand than usual.” Therefore, we advise people to purchase tickets in advance and straight from the firm’s website to avoid being defrauded or subject to additional fees,” he said.
