One killed in shuttle bus plunge

On a hill close to Sakon Nakhon Temple, a car carrying merit-seekers lost power.

An electronic shuttle bus plunged down a steep hill near Wat Phra Tha Pek in the city of Phana Nikhom, killing one person and injuring 25 people.

The shuttle van was traveling down a 3 km route along a hill at around 3 p.m. on Friday when the accident happened.

A hurting customer in the rear seat claimed the vehicle swerved to avoid oncoming cars before losing command once it reached a steep curve.

One side of the bus was destroyed when it hit a stone while driving down. The vehicle stumbling further 20 meters before coming to a stop was caused by the effect.

A 16-year-old woman who had traveled to the temple with her family to earn money perished. Another customers, including the old, were taken to clinic.

The vehicle was questioning by officers, and they are considering filing a lawsuit.
