Sola THANI — Despite rumors of a potential threat to Israeli visitors on the island, the famous Full Moon Party and the Loy Krathong event on Koh Phangan attracted more than 9, 000 people on Friday evening.

Haad Rin, a mainland beach location on Koh Phangan and the location of the Full Moon Party, was packed with Thai and international visitors, about 90 % of whom were immigrants. The monthly Loy Krathong festival was even celebrated with activities.

Pol Maj Gen Sermphan Sirikhong, commander of the Surat Thani officers, assigned his lieutenant, Pol Col Paisarn Sangthep, to monitor the condition alongside Pol Col Panya Niratmanon, commander of the Koh Phangan authorities.

Till Saturday night, police patrols, Invoice officers, and holiday police were in place to ensure visitors ‘ safety. Around 6:30 am, many revelers reconnected to their motels, and authorities assisted those seeking to table ferries to Koh Samui.

Hospitality for both islands has been impacted by fake information associated with the Full Moon Party, according to Ratchaporn Poonsawat, the president of the Koh Samui hospitality advertising association, on Saturday. At the end of the small year, the group has been profitable for local businesses, but for false information could hurt tourism.

He urged prudence when sharing information on social media, making reference to information from the Full Moon Party about a possible terrorist plot against Israelis. These studies had formerly been dismissed as misleading by security officials.

Ratchaporn noted that with increasing numbers of visitors from Europe and India and a fourfold rise in South Asian visitors this time, tourism has significantly improved.

” In December, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao are entering the great commerce time. Tourists should receive valuable information. People should help promote the beauty ( of the three tourist islands ) and security during the New Year”, said Mr Ratchaporn. ” But far, there have been no delays. Officers are working together to ensure the protection of guests, making sure that crimes, thefts, or terror attacks will certainly result”.

Tourists can be assured that Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao are secure, he added.
