After authorities issued the third-highest typhoon warning overnight as tropical storm Toraji scurried about 150 kilometers south of the financial hub, Hong Kong schools and many businesses were closed on Thursday morning ( Nov 14 ).
According to the city’s station, Toraji is expected to become less powerful and leave Hong Kong, with winds slowly easing over the course of the time.
By 10.20am, the observatory’s forecast for the strong breeze alert will be reduced to signal 3, which may help some businesses to reopen for the day.
In the town’s center, the streets were silent and the damage was little.
The state’s Airport Authority reported that businesses and flights were generally running, and that the state’s stock market was still available for trading on Thursday morning for the first time since a tornado.
People are advised to keep indoors during a tornado 8 signal, which significantly reduces transportation.
