Bodies of four Thai workers arrive home

The government requests assurances from Israel that no more Thai staff will be stationed in conflict areas.

Four Thai employees were killed on October 31 when Hezbollah jet fireplace struck northeastern Israel, and Friday’s body arrived at the Suvarnabhumi airport.

According to Nikorndej Balankura, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the body were transported back to their home counties for funeral service soon after their arrival at 2 p.m.

Pannibha Chandraramya, the ambassador of Thailand to Israel, led delegations from Thai workers ‘ organizations and Tel Aviv officials during a ceremony to prepare for the repatriation flight on Wednesday. Israeli government officials even attended the ceremony.

Hezbollah insurgents opened fire on the four agricultural laborers Akkhaphol Wannasai, Prayad Pilasram, Thana Tichantuek, and Kaweesak Papanang near Metula, Israel’s northern port of entry, killing them in front of the border with Lebanon.

Following the attack, the government sent a notice of protest to Israel, asking that no more Thai staff be sent to high-risk locations.

Mr. Nikorndej said it was unclear whether Israeli officials would condemn Jewish companies for employing laborers in military-declared areas.

” We’ve requested]Israeli authorities ] not to allow any employers to bring Thai labourers into dangerous zones”, he said. &nbsp,

He added that if Thai employees in Israel were made to travel through fight, they could record or complain to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Tel Aviv and the Department of Consular Affairs of Thailand.
