Veteran actor and television DJ Marcus Chin, 71,  , suffered a brain attack , in October and was admitted to the National University Hospital where he underwent two coronary angioplasty techniques.
But, it’s not like Marcus is ready to quit working only yet. He started hosting life streams , less than a week after the brain strike, prior to undergoing his second operation, and returned to hosting getai shows shortly after.
Three days before his physician leave actually ends, Marcus resumed his stereo having duties on Love 972 on November 5.
The latest show of ,# JustSwipeLah , saw network Das DD shadowing Marcus on his first time back in the Mediacorp building. It was revealed by Marcus ‘ co-host , Dennis Chew , that during that transition only, they received over 440 messages from viewers wishing Marcus also.
Dennis even said:” I was abroad when the event happened. I quickly retreated because I was extremely afraid at the time. On the second day, after his surgery, besides May-jie ( Marcus ‘ girlfriend ), I was probably the first person to visit him. To me, Marcus is like a father and an older sibling.
Later, during an interview with Das, Marcus revealed that he was “very weary” when he was on MC, and found it “harder to remain cooped up at home”.
He added that while he needed to be hospitalized for the second procedure for three days, he did n’t need to be, and that he was “recovering very quickly,” and that he is now “recovering very quickly.”
Speaking of his life flows, Marcus claimed that since he had plenty of rest time during the day, working two hours at night was essentially a breeze. We understand what he meant, especially if you had to examine how stressful his schedule was before he developed a cold.
Yet, he is planning to take a crack from acting, at least for the next year.
While recuperating, Marcus spent most of his time in the treatment and business of , his sweetheart, May.
When Das asked him to describe the events that occurred the day before the spirit attack, Marcus responded,” I was feeling very depressed at that time. My spirit was hurting, and I felt frantic. I was extremely concerned that I would breathe my past. At that time, I grabbed Mark]Lee’s ] arm. I did n’t say anything, but what I]was trying to tell him ] was” you have to save me, please save me”. I put all of my hopes on him by assisting me in calling the hospital and getting first support.
As he was trying to contact May, Mark, who was on set with Marcus at the time of the brain harm, did not take him on the hospital.
” ] He did that so ] if anything happens, May could still see me one last time”, said Marcus.
Marcus claimed that he felt “less frightened than when the heart attack happened” as he was being wheeled into the operating room.
” It was strange. May followed me into the operating room, and at that point, it appeared as though I was saying farewell to her,” Marcus said as tears rose in his sight.  ,
” I did n’t know if I could get out of the operating room alive. That instant was the most memorable. I addressed her in three terms. My next encounter with her might have been here.
Obviously overwhelmed with feeling, Marcus added:” I’m quite lucky to survive this calamity”.
Another issue on everyone’s thoughts right today: Is Marcus planning on retiring anytime soon?
” A lot of people say that in Singapore, if you want to retire comfortably, you need to have one million dollars. So I’m working towards that goal”, said Marcus, who hopes to achieve that before he turns 75.
” Are you close to your aim”? asked Das.
” I should be able to almost see it”, chuckled Marcus, before adding:” So do you think I can stop working? Cannot”.
Marcus has also come to terms with the importance of going things slowly and having regular health checks, particularly brain checks.
He is also appreciative of the like he’s received from fans and friends throughout his recovery.  ,
Of course, he did n’t forget to express his appreciation for May, whom he addressed this message to:” I hope everyone can be healthy. Mainly you. If you are not good, how can you take care of me? But this both stay healthy up”.
