China condemns attack on Myanmar consulate

Beijing: A spokeswoman for the country’s foreign government said on Monday that China had condemned an assault on its embassy in Mandalay and urged Myanmar authorities to make every effort to try to arrest the perpetrators.

Myanmar has experienced unrest since February 2021 when the defense immediately ousted an elected civilian authorities in a coup, putting an abrupt end to the impoverished nation’s tentative steps toward full democracy.

Following new force on insurgent groups to put an end to their fighting with the military regime, there was a rise in anti-China attitude on social media in Myanmar.

A fire at 5pm on Friday caused no fatalities but half damaged the consul grounds, the department spokeswoman, Lin Jian, told a regular media event.

According to Lin, China has” major representations” with Myanmar’s authorities, calling for a thorough analysis and every effort to formally punish the offenders.

He continued,” The Chinese consulate recently urged all of its citizens, firms, and organizations in Myanmar to pay attention to the security situation and take appropriate measures,” he continued.

Myanmar’s military government’s official was unavailable for post right away.

Individuals in Myanmar have a fear that China is supporting the coup, which further alienates many of those who oppose defense law as a result of China’s pressure on rebel groups to put an end to their battle.

Some critics even viewed the tense military authorities as being supported by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s August meeting with junta key Min Aung Hlaing.

Some South Asian activists have expressed frustration with China’s position and called it a considerable obstacle to the fight for democracy. &nbsp,
