“DAD, YOU’RE FINALLY FREE FROM THAT PAIN”
Chan’s son, Lachlan Chan, shared the news of his passing in a Facebook post on Sunday morning ( Oct 20 ). He wrote in Taiwanese:” Dad, you are finally free from that problems. Do n’t worry, we will take good care of mummie. We will be well for the rest of our time. You will always be our pride”.
On Twitter, fans poured in to pay tribute to Chan, a well-known cat dancer. One article thanked him for” the many instances you helped collect our teachers to situations, even when you only had chemotherapy,” as well as for” the benevolence of your good heart.”
In 2021, Chan explained to 8days. Why did he call himself Fatty Cheong, which became a household name for his ash siew wheat at the ABC Brickworks Food Centre? He chortled:” You’d like people to remember you quickly. I used to be very overweight, 140kg! I’ve been called Fatty Cheong by some individuals. It’s a common title. Like if you say you want to consume Coffee, people will realize you’re referring to coffee”.
