Flooding continues in five Thai provinces

Five regions, mostly in the Central Plains, were flooded but storm rates were declining on Sunday.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported on Sunday that flood remained in Ayutthaya, Lamphun, Nakhon Pathom, Suphan Buri and Uthai Thani. It affected over 31, 500 people in more than 770 townships.

Nine villages in Muang city in the northeastern province of Lamphun were affected by floods, according to the office, but stormwater was receding it.

In Uthai Thani, a flash storm struck about 20 villages in Ban Rai city.

In Suphan Buri, 109 settlements were inundated in Bang Pla Ma and Song Phi Nong towns. Storm rates were falling.

In Ayutthaya, 598 settlements were flooded in Bang Ban, Bang Pa-in, Bang Pahan, Bang Sai, Phak Hai, Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya and Sena towns. Water rates were even dropping it.

Floodwater was still present in 40 settlements in Bang Len and Nakhon Chaisri towns in Nakhon Pathom but was evaporating.

Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom, Suphan Buri and Uthai Thani are in the Central Plains.

From Aug 16 to Oct 20, storms hit 47 counties, killing 57 people and injuring 28 people. About 256, 400 people were affected during the time.
