Chemical leak prompts evacuation

After an explosion at a shop in Prachin Buri’s Sri Maha Pho district, which led to the departure of hundreds of people, a chemical drip occurred.

The incident, which took place at &nbsp, HSMT New Material Technology ( Thailand ) Co factory on Friday, caused a large release of chemical fumes, forcing nearly 200 locals to evacuate their homes. Within the day of the incident, firefighters from the Tha Toom Tambon Administration Office ( TAO ) were able to disperse the fumes and manage the situation.

District main Juthamas Bua-Phuean, who likewise arranges for medical team from Sri Maha Pho Hospital and the state’s public health office to check the health of the evacuees, ordered the removal.

Among the 183 individuals evacuated, 105 showed no signs, 48 reported small throat and nasal pain and 30, largely elderly or those with pre-existing health conditions, required close monitoring for more intense symptoms such as eye pain and discomfort. Of these, 25 were transferred to Sri Maha Pho Hospital, and one was sent to Chularat 304 International Hospital.

According to the most recent studies, the situation has now returned to normal, and the survivors have been returned to their homes.

Locals reported hearing a loud blast and smelling a powerful odor around 3 p.m. on Friday before developing symptoms like difficulty breathing and throat irritation.

The incident occurred at the mill where the event occurred, and the manufacturer claims that a substance tank malfunctioned during surfactant production.

Government, including Prachin Buri’s business office and the Tha Toom TAO, have briefly suspended the company’s operations.
