According to Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Thai authorities had collaborate with Interpol to secure the arrest of Pheu Thai Party listing MP Gen Pisal Wattanawongkiri, so that he can be tried in court, in order to stop the Untuk Bai murder case.

” This matter must follow the legal process and I have already ordered police]to track him down ]”, she said while confirming that she, as party chief, had received Gen Pisal’s resignation letter yesterday morning.

When the top inquired about whether the government had put pressure on Gen Pisal to go back to Thailand to be tried, he replied that it already had. She said,” The police officers must now follow up and discover where he is.”

When questioned about reports that Gen Pisal is now in Japan, Ms. Paetongtarn argued that Interpol should handle this.

Gen Pisal quit Pheu Thai on Monday, said Wisut Chainarun, another of the group’s list-MP and also the general government punch. Thus, no one in the group needs to denounce Gen Pisal over the Tak Bai matter no more, he said.

Monday evening, the group planned to cast a ballot on Gen Pisal’s account. Given his departure beforehand, it meant the matter was not more on the plan, Mr Wisut added.

Mr. Wisut claimed that Gen. Pisal had given up on the Sudah Bai drama, which had happened 20 years ago. Gen Pisal lost his seat in the House as a result of his departure, and he will be removed from the party checklist.

Security forces staged a protest in front of the police place in the Tak Bai area of the southern border state of Narathiwat on October 25, 2004, which led to the Tak Bai murder. The protesters demanded the launch of six prisoners held over the robbery of weapons at a government facility.

Seven protesters died as they were forced to flee, and 78 people eventually died from asphyxia or tissue loss while being transported in loaded vehicles to a military concentration camp 140 kilometers away. On October 25, the Tak Bai case’s 20-year statute of limitations expires.

Gen Pisal, now 74, is a key figure in the case. During the 2004 Tak Bai murder and crackdown, he was in charge of the 4th Army Region. The South is under the control of the 4th Army Region.

Gen Pisal requested a skilled leave of absence from the House up until October 30, which is five weeks after the legislation expires. Although it is believed that he was immediately reported to have traveled to the UK, some sources claim that he is now in Japan, his whereabouts are unknown.

When he failed to appear for a courtroom hearing, the Narathiwat Provincial Court recently issued an arrest warrant for him.
