If Gen Pisal Wattanawongkiri returns to the state after the statute of limitations in the Tak Bai event expires, the Pheu Thai Party has pledged to take legal action against his party-listing MP.

Sorawong Thienthong, the group’s secretary-general, said on Sunday Gen Pisal would be an MP even if the group decides to remove him presently, when asked about censure the party is not doing enough to take him to fairness.

Because the Tak Bai event is a personal one, Gen Pisal also has time to come back to prove his innocence, he said,” the party is not worried about how the popularity of the Deep South will fare.”

However, Mr. Sorawong insisted that the group would taking steps that might lead to the MP being expelled if he or she returns after October 25. Gen. Pisal was given permission to travel abroad for health care. His leave of absence time exceeds the statute’s issuance.

Gen Pisal was in charge of the Fifth Army Place that was directly responsible for the Tak Bai murder, which took place on October 25, 2004 when protection forces strewn in front of a police station in the Narathiwat province’s Tak Bai district.

Over 80 people were reportedly killed during the march distribution and subsequent police transfer of detainees, according to the protesters ‘ demands for the launch of six detainees.

The 20-year act will expire on October 25; if a suspect may be tried in court by the statute’s expiration, they will no longer remain held legally responsible. The arrest warrant for Gen Pisal has been issued by the Narathiwat Provincial Court.

The government’s response to the Tak Bai case was criticized by the Thai Sang Thai ( TST ) Party, who also expressed concern about how little interest there is in pursuing suspects it appears to have had.

The TST predicted that the issue may lead to deeper issues and increase the protection situation in the Deep South unless the government showed strong will to bring justice to the victims and their families.

The state was required to address the problem because it was chosen to join UNHRC from 2025 to 2027, according to the statement. Additionally, the group supported the demand for an apology from the authorities.
