The image Group Co, the business at the center of a fraud scandal that has allegedly caused over 250 million baht in losses, has received complaints from 2400 more people, totaling 740.
More allegations against the business have been made as the number of problems to the Consumer Protection Police Division continues to rise, with patients in other nations claiming they were defrauded by the organization.
A group of people in Japan recently made headlines on Twitter after investing in goods from The image Group. Also, investors in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar who believed they have been scammed by The image Group have taken to social advertising to air their concerns.
Victims can lodge a formal complaint at their neighborhood police station, send their statement online, or contact the Royal Thai Police helpline at 1599 because many of them cannot appear in person at CPPD’s Bangkok headquarters to give evidence in person.  ,
According to Pol Maj Gen Sophon Sarapat, deputy chief of the Central Investigation Bureau ( CIB ), the Department of Special Investigation ( DSI) is likely to take over the investigation into the case because it allegedly resulted in losses of over 100 million baht and 300 victims. The CPPD is a division of the CIB.
After Warathaphon” Paul” Waratyaworrakul, CEO and founder of The image Group, deliberately turned himself in on Saturday, five different key statistics from the company, largely stars, decided to follow suit.
They have all been released without demand after questioning, but they are now considered offenders in the officer’s investigation into the situation, authorities said.
According to Pol Maj Gen Montree Teskun, chief of the Crime Suppression Division ( CSD ), these suspects will be charged once the police have finished gathering evidence to back up the allegations against them.
Kan Kantathavorn, a well-known TV network and artist who was appointed The image Group’s marketing director, was the last one to make a statement to the CPPD out of the six key individuals who have turned themselves in. After reporting to CPPD’s office on Sunday, he maintained his innocence. He claims that his reporter status with the business has been terminated.
The CPPD has also received reports from eight other people who lead The logo Group’s direct sales team.
Mr. Warathaphon claimed authorities had not filed any claims against him or any other people who had turned themselves in, and that his message on Facebook was allegedly intended to inform his business partners and investors of his sincerity and the validity of his company.
He also mentioned in the information that he also mentioned that the plaintiffs may face a counterclaim when the jury” throws out” the complaint against him and his company, before adding that his efforts to assist the plaintiffs may lessen the severity of any allegations that may be brought against him.
Meanwhile, Pol Gen Kitrat Phanphet, the head of the national authorities, pleaded with police handling defendants ‘ issues to view themselves as attorneys who are assisting the victims in obtaining justice in the case.
They have lost their money [because of the alleged scam], and they must deal with it on their own because they do n’t have a lawyer to assist them [as the accused parties do ],” said Pol Gen Kitrat.
In another development, Surachoke Tangwiwat, secretary-general of the Food and Drug Administration ( FDA ), said one out of the 14 cosmetics and food supplement products advertised on The iCon Group’s website has never been certified by the FDA.
