One-third of Thais ‘very angry’ if handout funds cancelled

According to an opinion poll, more than one third of Thais would be at least slightly enraged if they did n’t receive the 10,000-baht handout in the second phase of the digital wallet scheme, while more than one third would not mind at all.

On October 9 and 9, the National Institute of Development Administration polled 2, 000 people nationwide to ask their views on how the government’s financial signal program should distribute the 10, 000-baht money transaction.

The survey found 56.95 % of the respondents were eligible handout recipients, 23.95 % were ineligible, 17.00 % had already received the 10, 000 baht and 2.10 % said they were not sure if they were eligible.

The pollster asked the” never sure” group and the eligible responders to respond to the following four repayment cases:

1. The government decides to halt the second phase of the stimulus package, which does n’t offer any digital or cash options.

41.58 % said they would be very unhappy

34.38 % not angry at all

14.56 % quite unhappy

9.14 % somewhat angry

0.34 % did not know or were not interested

2. The state distributes the flyer in the form of online income but in an amount less than 10, 000 ringgit, such as 5, 000 baht.

The responses to the pollster’s questions about the 10,000-baht signal program were as follows:

Despite their income or assets, 29.44 % believed that the government should distribute the handbook to all different groups of people.

25.47 % disagreed with the handout offer, saying no one should get the 10, 000 baht

25.25 said the flyer should be given to people in resilient parties only, such as the crippled

15. 66 % backed the government’s decision to provide income or online money to vulnerable teams in the second phase.

2. 30 % just agreed with electronic money obligations in the second phase of the agreement
