Kantathavorn, a well-known TV host and comedian, met with the police on Sunday night to ask them about complaints about The symbol Group direct sales company.
Mr. Kan and his attorney showed up at the Central Investigation Bureau to be questioned by consumer safety officers. He claimed that he had agreed to go to the police and that his information and clarification may be beneficial.
He emphasized that he would bottom his responses on fact.
About 500 people have complained to the consumer safety police about losses of about 178 million baht as a result of their participation in The iCon Group’s direct sales business.
Warathaphon Waratyaworrakul, 41, chief executive of the group, met consumer safety police on Saturday and said he was saddened upon learning that people have suffered loss investing in the company’s direct selling business.
He promised that his business may start a rehab facility to help and compensate those who had been harmed.
In an effort to establish whether The image Group actually runs a business or just intends to raise money in an illegal way, consumer protection police searched nine locations in Bangkok and nearby provinces earlier on Saturday in search of evidence.
