Indian politician Baba Siddique shot dead in Mumbai

In Mumbai, a senior politician was shot dead on Saturday ( October 12 ), just before crucial state elections, as a result of police investigations into a notorious crime gang.

Baba Siddique, 66, a native senator and former secretary in Maharashtra condition, was shot multiple times in the chest outside his father’s office in Mumbai, Indian media reported.

Maharashtra’s deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, from the same party as Siddique, said he was” shocked” by the” cowardly attack”.

According to the Hindustan Times news, two alleged intruders had been detained and that police were looking for another.

The two suspects allegedly claimed to be members of a group led by Lawrence Bishnoi, who is accused of operating a offense group that has committed numerous murders, according to NDTV, who is currently in jail.

The shooting comes just days after Siddique’s safety aspect was upgraded after he received death threats and in preparation for elections scheduled for later this month.
