Police in Songkhla are looking into the demise of a Songkhla provincial councillor and his family members, with the theory that the man’s wife may have taken them before they all passed away.

According to Pol Col Bantoen Laocharoen, captain of Muang Songkhla police station, the presumed murder-suicide was reported via a 191 visit at 3.45pm on Monday.

When authorities arrived at the community house, a two-storey residence on Sai Buri Road in the metropolitan area, they found the bodies of council Chaichan Khwanseng, 61, and his boy Khanet, 16, in the living room on the ground floor.

On the next floor, officers found the bodies of Chaichan’s child Kotwakorn, 18, and his family Natpapat, 47, in separate rooms. A 9mm handgun was being held by the deceased person.

Each victim was identified by a preliminary investigation as having one bullet wound to the scalp. The family’s body heat appeared to be the best, implying she was the last to death.

Officials even found cushions placed near the body, said Pol Col Bantoen.

Authorities believe Natpapat, the family, perhaps had drugged the others with sleeping tablets before shooting them.

She was said to have previously told her sister that the family was deeply indebted. Additionally, researchers discovered that she had earlier gone to her father’s house and taken sleeping medications there just before the incident took place.

At the time of the shooting, neighbors did not hear any strange sounds outside the home, which suggests there was no fighting.

According to researchers, the woman may have first attempted to drown herself by starting a fire before turning the gun on herself.

According to Pol Col Bantoen, Natpapat may have muffled the sound of the photos. He claimed that thorough autopsy reports and testing to reveal the deceased’s stomach contents were in the works.
