Japan government admits doctoring ‘untidy’ Cabinet photo

This is more repulsive than a group photo of a elderly ‘ team taken in a hot spring. It’s absolutely embarrassing”, one person wrote on X.

Yoshimasa Hayashi, a major government spokeswoman, said to reporters on Monday that “minimum editing was made” in an effort to distract criticism of the manipulation.

” Group pictures during formal events of the prime minister’s office, such as the Cabinet change, will become preserved forever as antiques, thus minimal editing is normally performed on these photos”, he said.

In March, Catherine, Britain’s Princess of Wales, bowed and said she had edited a picture with her kids released by the house.

After major media outlets including AFP withdrew the picture because it had been manipulated, the family’s day portrait of a smiling Kate had some irregularities and sparked a storm.

” Like many aspiring photography, I do sometimes experiment with editing”, Kate said in a statement.

” I apologize for any dilemma that the family photo we shared yesterday caused.”
