Car crash topples 12 power poles in Bangkok

A car hit a power shaft, toppling it and another 11 beams on Soi Lat Phrao 48 Road off Lat Phrao Road in Huai Khwang area, Bangkok, on Sunday morning. Customers was blocked in both directions.

The incident happened at about 6.20am. The light Honda City vehicle was discovered by rescuers at the scene crushed beneath a toppled power pole, which also struck a local house. They rescued the pilot, who was somewhat injured, from the vehicle.

Power authorities were called in to recover the area’s power supply.

After the pilot passed a blood alcohol test, authorities after discovered cocaine and a weapon in his vehicle, which was registered in Bangkok.
