Watch: Elephants escape floodwaters in Thailand

Four animals wad through storm lakes as team members work to remove the creatures from higher ground in a video released by The Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The rhinoceros that trailed behind the others is blind, according to Park leader Saengduean Chailert, and that is why it moved so quietly.

After heavy storms in inland places caused the Mae Taeng River to rise quickly, flash flooding hit the shelter on October 3.

Staff told the BBC on Friday the temple has 126 animals, nine are stuck on the far side of the garden, but all are protected.
