Boy, 14, dies in North Sumatra after squat jumps allegedly ordered by religious teacher

Authorities in North Sumatra are looking into the death of a 14-year-old secondary college student last week after he allegedly received 100 low dives for failing to memorize the Bible verses. &nbsp,

The spiritual instructor who reportedly punished him has been suspended.

Rindu Syahputra Sinaga, who was allegedly made to perform the low climbs by the instructor, passed away on September 26. The boy, who was identified by different local news outlets as Ms. Selly Winda Hutapea, was one of the victims.

After photos of the victim’s system were widely circulated, the tragic event in North Sumatra’s Deli Serdang district has gone viral on Indonesian cultural advertising.

According to his family, Mdm Yuliana Derma Padang, the punishment had considerably impacted the boy’s health. After returning home from school, her brother expressed pain, especially in his arms, and developed a great disease, she said.

Her son had informed her that because he could n’t memorize the Bible, he was forced to perform 100 squat jumps. ” This was the first time it happened”, Mdm Yuliana told media outlet Kumparan. &nbsp,

” He said,’ Mother, my feet hurt so far. Put that teacher in jail so she wo n’t do this again'”, recounted Mdm Yuliana, who lives in Negara Beringin village, about a 75-minute drive from the provincial capital Medan.

Rindu was afterward referred to Sembiring Hospital in the city of Deli Tua, which is located about 13.5 kilometers from Medan, but his situation continued to worsen and he was later declared dead on September 26.

Mdm Yuliana does not want an examination, but she thinks the sentence contributed to her son’s death. &nbsp,

” I’m scared for my child to have an autopsy. He’s already gone, and I ca n’t bear the idea of his body being dissected again”, she said. &nbsp,

She wants the authorities to “investigate this case so that similar incidents do n’t happen in the future” though.

Research UNDERWAY, TEACHER SUSPENDED

An investigation into the affair is ongoing, according to police inspector Risqi Akbar, the head of Deli Serdang Police’s judicial investigation system.

” Our soldiers are on the terrain”, he said.

On Tuesday ( October 1 ), the police intend to exhume the body. &nbsp,

Ms Hutapea is reportedly regretful.

” The instructor is already in poor shape,” the professor said. She never anticipated this to happen, according to Mr. Muriadi, the mind of the Deli Serdang knowledge government, in a telephone interview with Kompas, a news agency.

Since January this time, Mr. Muriadi claims that Ms. Hutapea has been a substitute teacher for the Christian religion. &nbsp,

” It was agreed that the tutor may be temporarily suspended to avoid any unexpected situation”, he added. &nbsp,
