SINGAPORE: S Iswaran, a former transport minister, admitted to lesser counts of getting gifts as a public servant and was found guilty on five counts on Tuesday ( Sep 24 ).
The prosecutors moved his two counts of corruption to costs under Section 165, which makes it illegal for public servants to take or get valuable things from someone who is associated with them in an official capability, at the start of his legal trial.
Iswaran, 62,  , is the first , social office-holder in Singapore to experience a jury trial in almost five years. Additionally, he entered a guilty plea to one count of obstructing the fairness system.
