Chair ‘ pre-selected’, say minority parties
Senate standing committee seats were allegedly snuffed out by unjust and inadequate seat allocations, according to minority senators, who have voiced their grievances.
Lawmakers with fewer relationships reported being disadvantaged by alliance voting organized by brother senators with strong ties to fill seats on 21 standing boards that ought to have been evenly distributed.
During today’s meeting, Tewarit Maneechai, a lawmaker from the media job, asked that he and the rest of the Senate get mandated to review and approve the selection of users of the 21 boards.
To explain his point, he asked why legislators from the crops party, particularly Seranee Anilbol and Kanlaya Yaiprasan, were no chosen to represent the Senate committee on crops.
Sen. Seranee and Sen. Kanlaya were subsequently corrected by Senator Sawat Thatsana, the committee’s president, who was in charge of the process, saying more lawmakers applied for the board than there were chairs for.
At least 11 commissions were rated as aggressive. In some cases, loads were bring to decide on the members of such boards, according to Sen Sawat.
Sen Kanlaya acknowledged that despite the fact that the selection of members of the agriculture committee was in accordance with the rules, she thought it unjust for someone who is enthusiastic about organic farming to have omitted the chance to join the panel.
” The just error here is that we are in the majority”, said Sen Seranee.
” So, pick whoever you want, go ahead. I’ve done my work, and that’s it. You’ve always held a voting to make decisions. But “how on world could we ever triumph”? he added.
Even before today’s conference, Sen Nantana Nantavaropas likewise claimed the choice was less than honest. She argued that the 21 committee chairs may have been pre-selected slowly before the vote if they had not been able to secure a seat on the social development committee.
” I have been working on social development for a long time, but I lost up to a meat vendor”, she said.
She even accused Sen Wutthichat Kanlayanamit of belittling Sen Seranee, the director of the collection commission, despite Sen Wutthichat’s claim that the crops commission would be good without him.
