Philippines’ ex-mayor Alice Guo arrives in Manila after deportation from Indonesia

The former president made her way to Manila on a private plane, flanked by Spanish law enforcement, including Benjamin Abalos Jr., the country’s interior minister, who led her transfer from Indonesian government in Jakarta on Thursday.

Soon after arriving in Manila, Guo stated,” I have received death threats and I am asking the Spanish government for your assistance.”

Abalos pleaded with Guo to reveal the truth but said she would provide safety for her.

” Share all the names in order to provide justice, and this is how it ends.” That is the only method we can support her”, he said.

After law enforcement officers raided a game in Bamban town in March, the Senate launched an investigation into Guo in May, which they claimed were scams carried out from a center built on land that Guo largely owned.

Guo was elected governor of Tarlac province’s Bamban town in 2022.

The National Bureau of Investigation said in August that she registered as a member of the Philippines, but later it was discovered that her fingerprints matched those of a Chinese regional, Guo Hua Ping.

In August, an anti-graft business removed her as president on the grounds of grave wrongdoing over her alleged links to illegitimate gaming activities in Bamban.
