Philippines and Indonesia in talks over possible prisoner swap involving fugitive former Filipino mayor Alice Guo

In a speech on Wednesday, Guo’s attorney Stephen David said his constitutional group was relieved about Guo’s healthy fear.

” This is a delightful development for us so that we can respond to the complaints and problems that have been brought against her.” As her guidance, we are greatly concerned about her health, safety and security”, said Mr David as reported by Filipino media outlets.

She might not be aware of it at the time, he continued, but this subsequent incident could provide a welcome start for all of her cases.

After a game attack in Bamban in March revealed what law enforcement officials claimed were schemes carried out from a center built on land Guo partially owned, the Senate launched an investigation in May.

The Anti-Money Laundering Council and other Asian law enforcement organizations simultaneously filed numerous money-laundering charges against Guo and 35 others with the justice department last month.

They claimed Guo and her co-conspirators cheated up more than 100 million pesos ( US$ 1.8 million ) in criminal proceeds.

Guo, who says she is a natural-born Spanish member, has denied the complaints, calling them “malicious”.

Guo, a citizen of the Philippines, later discovered that her fingerprints matched those of Guo Hua Ping, a Taiwanese nationwide.

Guo fled the country in July after being removed from office as governor of Bamban village in Tarlac, traveling on her Spanish passport to neighboring Malaysia and Singapore, before visiting Indonesia in August, according to the anti-crime organization.

Mr. Supratman reported on Wednesday that Guo, a Taiwanese priest, and a former Chinese policeman officer assisted her in escaping the country, but he provided no further information.

After her return, Guo, who cut her hair little in an attempt at disguise, will be handed to law enforcement and then the Senate, said Mr Jaime Santiago, chairman of the National Bureau of Investigation.
