Military reshuffle awaits new minister’s approval

A military change listing is being wrapped up while waiting for new&nbsp, Defence Minister Phumtham Wechayachai and his assistant, Gen Natthapol Nakpanich, to link up any loose ends, according to a military supply.

At a meeting on Tuesday, which was primarily attended by six leading officers and representatives from the government and incumbent leaders of the armed forces, the proposed record containing the appointments of fresh leaders of the military forces and another high-ranking positions was discussed.

The conference, which was presided over by departed defense secretary Sutin Klungsang, lasted for about three days until 5 p.m., according to the source.

For the article of military commander-in-chief, the decisions boiled down to Gen Tharaphong Malakham, an assistant military commander, and Gen Phana Khlaeoplotthuk, the military chief-of-staff, according to the cause.

At the same time, Gen Charoenchai had likewise nominated Lt Gen Amarit Bunsuya, captain of the 1st Army Corps, as the fresh 1st Army Region captain, said the source.

The primary factor being that he had a degree from a maritime school in Germany, was his foreign training. No military commanders in Thailand have recently held a bachelor’s diploma from a foreign entity. &nbsp,
