As large rain poured down on the city location on Monday evening, causing more than three hours of rain, the roads were flooded and cars left stranded on the side of the road.

In Chon Buri, portions of Pattaya city and the nearby Bang Lamung city were flooded, including a segment of the Sukhumvit road that connects Pattaya with various provinces in southern Pattaya.

Eventually, the water dried up, and things started to return to normal on Tuesday night with only intermittent flooding.

The Meteorological Department issued a second notice on Tuesday, with a forecast for more rain in eastern counties and different areas until Saturday.

Tropical Storm Yagi, then moving westwards across the South China Sea after leaving the Philippines, was not expected to alter Thailand.

According to Reuters, at least 13 people were killed by the wind in the Philippines, where government buildings and schools remained closed on Tuesday in Manila and adjacent counties.

This weekend, the storm was forecast to make ashore in southwestern China.
