UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to make official visit to Singapore

SINGAPORE: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will visit Singapore from Aug 31 to Sep 2, announced the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( MFA ) on Friday ( Aug 30 ). &nbsp,

This will be his second official visit to Singapore as the UN’s secretary-general.

Mr. Guterres will match with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, who will serve him a breakfast, and make a phone call to Tharman Shanmugaratnam as president of India. &nbsp,

He’ll also meet Lee Hsien Loong, the minister’s top. &nbsp,

Prior to his stay in Singapore in October 2022, Mr. Guterres passed through the country and received a meal from Vivian Balakrishnan, the minister for foreign matters. &nbsp,

Ban Ki Moon, the former UN secretary-general, made a working trip to Singapore in 2016 and an established visit there in 2012, respectively. &nbsp,

Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Grace Fu, will give him a visit of Marina Barrage and breakfast during his attend. &nbsp,

He will take Janil Puthucheary, the minister of health and modern development, and Janil Puthucheary, the senior minister of state for the Ministry of Health, to Punggol Regional Library, and Josephine Teo, the minister for modern advancement and information, will host him for dinner. &nbsp,

Under-Secretary-General for Policy in the Executive Office of Secretary-General Guy Ryder and other UN representatives may accompany Mr. Guterres on his journey.
